Also, congratulations to Derek McLane for another stunning set. (He did last year’s scenic design as well.) We will be keeping an eye out for an interview and hopefully some design renderings!
(And here’s hoping Disney will ask him to design Frozen if/when it comes to the stage!)

Superbowl 2012 Half Time Load-In
Haven’t been able to find a video for this year yet, but enjoy this one! Load-in for the 2012 show featuring Madonna.
The Russian Government recently shut down all theatrical performances, deeming them to be homosexual propaganda. Outraged, Russian Broadway came together and decided to respond in a witty performance. In the video below they discuss issues of love and sexuality, as well as social constraints and stereotypes.
The performance was directed by John Walton West and composed by Jason Michael Snow. The cast included a wide array of stars, including Jennifer Barnhart, Laura Benanti, Chirstina Bianco, Stephanie J. Block, Danny Burstein, Michael Cerveris, Joanna Gleason, Christine Pedi, Michael Rosen, Stephen Schwartz, and many more.
Merry Christmas from the techies at Westfield high school who were too lazy to go find real ornaments!!
Stage managers of tumblr!
I’m making a set of tech week bingo cards. I want your input for tiles! Reply! Reblog! Send me messages!
Once they’re done I’ll put them up and we can all share and start playing during tech!
Thanks for the huge response we just had to our theater school question! You all are awesome! (Especially to those who gave detailed descriptions in the ask box! That helps so much!)
Still working out the organization, but we’ll be covering both BA/BFA and MA/MFA programs. We’ll list type of program, location, programs offered, and any other info that was offered by current students/alumni in our ask box. Since it’s application/interview season we’ll try to get the page out ASAP and then add to it rather than waiting and putting out a more complete list later.
And yes! If it’s a school that’s not necessarily a theater school but specializes in a certain area (makeup, costume construction, electrics, sound design, etc) we want to hear about them too! (We’ll have a category for schools that don’t have a full tech theater program and that’s where you’ll find these.)
